Driven by a vision of accessible, sustainable water treatment, the Orange UPGRADE is our flagship RO Membrane Coating. Tested with the membranes from reliable manufacturers, designed to deliver exceptional performance and reliability for a wide range of applications. At the heart of the Orange UPGRADE is our patent-pending catalytic carbon membrane technology, engineered to provide superior fouling resistance and contaminant rejection. With a focus on durability and ease of maintenance, the Orange upgrade is built to withstand the rigors of industrial use while minimizing downtime and operational costs.
Engineering decisions made specifically for industrial use and field deployment realities. Keep your flow rate constant, and your downtime and maintenance costs low, even in challenging feedwater conditions.
Orange coats the membranes you already run — no replacement, no new procurement. In pilot testing it holds flux constant (no concentration polarization), reduces two additional contaminants, cuts CIP frequency, and can roughly double membrane service life. *Coating-specific figures (lifespan and fouling-penalty elimination) are based on pilot results and pending final OCWD data; other estimates use industry averages. Energy model: Orange runs at constant-flux baseline SEC (BWRO 1.50 / SWRO 3.00 kWh/m³; Schäfer et al., 2019, Applied Energy; Elimelech & Phillip, Science 2011). Standard SEC adds a fouling penalty that scales with your CIP frequency — anchored at ~0.25 kWh/m³ for a typical 8×/yr facility and rising as fouling worsens (Al-Abri et al., 2024, Desalination; Okamoto & Lienhard, 2021, Desalination). Rate: $0.12/kWh U.S. industrial average (EIA, 2023). CIP reduction: Wilf & Bartels (2006), J. Membrane Sci. Standard membrane-life benchmark: AWWA (2020), 5–7 yr field average. NPV discounts annual savings at 8% over the selected horizon against the up-front coating cost. Coating-specific assumptions — ~2× membrane life and fouling-penalty elimination — are based on pilot results and pending final OCWD data. Individual results vary with feedwater conditions.
